Main aur Mrs. Khanna

Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is a film written and directed by debitant director Prem Soni। The film is about a loving couple whose marriage is strained। The film could have been much better and interesting if the writing is strong. With its weak script writing the flm remains ordinary and simple. The story of the film revolves around three characters, Raina [Kareena Kapoor], Samir [Salman Khan] and Akash [Sohail Khan]. Raina and Samir is a happily married couple. Raina works in an airport shop. Their life becomes stressed when Samir has a downfall in his career. Samir gets irritated and decides to move to Singapore. He tells Raina to return to her home town. She refuses to comply and stays on in Melbourne.Soon the sad and lonely Raina finds a group of friends. The friends include Akash [Sohail Khan] who works at a cafe. Akash is who helps her out during her difficult times and they develop a bond of friendship. Though for Mrs Khanna, Akash is just a good friend, Akash has slowly fallen in love with her. He feels Samir will not come back for her and theirs will be a happy ending. However, Samir, after tasting success, comes back to Australia to take Raina with him. Here is when the complications erupt.Prem Soni has handled a few scenes well, but the writing is unimpressive. Dialogue, also by Prem, are wonderful at places but doesn't improve the silly script. Sajid-Wajid's music is tuneful. 'Don't Say Alvida' and 'Rabba' are melodious compositions. The cinematography is striking. The locales of Melbourne give the film a nice romantic setting. Performance wise, Salman plays his part with maturity. Kareena gives a remarkable performance once again. Sohail Khan seems perfect for his role. Yash Tonk is okay. Mahek Chahl is fine. Nauheed Cyrusi is wasted. Preity Zinta's special appearance and her item number actually manage to perk up the proceedings somewhat. On the whole, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is neither a very good nor a very bad film. It is a simple film which could have been made better. The second part of the film has been handled well. Overall viewer will not regret watching it.
